Should i keep thieves guild armor
I don't get people that sell it, really. IMHO if someone sells it their dumb ass deserves to not finish the guild they betrayed by selling their uniform. Do people not play RPGs or something? This entire topic is a bunch of dudes jerking off while one guy learns how to find porn for the first time "Sounds like normal GameFAQs to me. I considered selling all of the armour because I started the TG questline quite late, and thus already had a full set of enchanted glass armour that was massively superior to the cheap armour they gave to me.
As I said, I ended up keeping the hood since I didn't have much equipment that improved prices, but if it had had some other sneaking enchantment, I would have sold it too, and subsequently I would have been screwed later on in the questline. They never said you need to keep the armour or you absolutely will not be able to finish the Thieves Guild.
I never needed my shrouded armour in the DB questline, it just just handy for lower levels. And I sold the armour because I mainly wanted to get rid of it, not trade it for gold. My house chests were filled with a lot of crap and I decided to take everything out, only put in the stuff I definitely needed or wanted to use later, and sold everything else over the course of a few hours.

Notable mentions of exceptions are the Dark Brotherhood armor as you find a few more sets in the game. Overall, it may be wise to wait on the Thieves Guild questline until level 46 in order to make all the gear more worthwhile, since the armor scales to the player's level. It's also nice to have the added option to pay off guards when caught doing illegal extra-curricular activities. The Dark Brotherhood is a group of assassins that accept contracts through what is called The Black Sacrament.
The group serves the deities Sithis and The Night Mother. They carry out contracts on anybody, and there is no exception. They do still have rules, like no senseless killing of random people, only the contracts set before them. Some people may have to cross lines they may not be comfortable with.
However, these contracts don't vary; find the target, and eliminate them in any way the player deems fit. While this allows for freedom of play, these side-quests may begin to get stale as they drag the player all across Skyrim only to fast-travel right back to the Sanctuary.
The brotherhood resides in a place called The Sanctuary, near Falkreath. It's hidden in the hillside by a single door with a skull on it to mark the entrance. Eventually, access to the Dawnstar Sanctuary will be available too as players continue the storyline.
After its completion, the next time they take a rest, the Dark Brotherhood will kidnap them in their sleep. This will send the player headfirst into the dark and chaotic world of assassins as they try to bring the Dark Brotherhood back to its former glory. To do so, the brotherhood embarks on a quest to fulfill the contract presented before them of slaying the current Emperor of Skyrim. Even if it is not high on the list of priorities it is something which should be fixed.
That said, I think a lot of the negative comments to this topics stem from the OP's utter outrage at having been allowed to make a mistake.
That just raises the hackles of all those who hate the ever increasing amount of hand-holding in video games. I also fall into that camp so I can sympathise with both points of view.
Anyway, as an earlier poster mentioned there is a method by which Xbox save games can be transferred to and from the PC so there is possibly a solution for the OP if he has access to a PC version of the game.
It's an issue of one of the items being required at the end of the questline when it really shouldn't be. Simply provide the option to tell Tonilia "I don't have my guild armor anymore, and I won't be able to get it back," she shrugs, everything proceeds as it should and you don't get an upgraded armor piece. You face a consequence for getting rid of the armor, but the consequence isn't your progression through the guild stupidly being stymied.
Of course, that would require getting ahold of the voice actor to put an extra line or two in, so Bethesda will probably take the easy approach of flagging the armor as quest items. Why would anyone pride themselves in obtaining every achievement in 1 play through on a TES game? Your fault for selling the armor, pay attention.
Finns lute is still in my inv. People are never happy. And personally, I'd rather be stuck having sold a quest item then be stuck with useless crap in my inventory, as I am now.
